IELTS in CEFR scale


The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe may be useful to IELTS test takers. The framework is a set of descriptions of abilities at various levels of learning that may be used with any language. It can be used as a starting point for interpreting and comparing various language certifications, and it's becoming more popular as a means of evaluating language skills around the world.

What is the IELTS? The IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System which is a standardized test of English language proficiency. The IELTS is designed to assess the language skills of people who want to study or work in an English-speaking environment. It is accepted by over 10,000 universities, colleges and other institutions worldwide . The IELTS consists of four modules: reading, writing, listening and speaking.  The reading and writing modules are both scored on a scale from 0-9 with 9 being the highest achievable score.  The listening and speaking modules are each scored on a scale from 0-10 with 10 being the highest achievable score. Academic LISTENING Module

Description This part of the test lasts about 30 minutes. Plus 10 minutes to tranfer your answers to the answer sheet. [In the computer version, you choose the answers while you are listening to the audio]         IMPORTANT: Any poor spelling or grammar mistake will be penalised. Then                                              your answer will not be marked. There are 40 questions   You listen to four recordings of native English speakers and then write down your answers to a series of questions. SPEAKING Module

 Inside the speaking section, the examinator will evaluate you according to the following criteria: To see more information about the Speaking band scores, follow this link:  IELTS:Score Bands Around 11-14 minutes. It can be taken the same day or in a different date than the other parts. This part of the test is divided into 3 parts. In the Speaking Part 1: The examiner asks questyions about yourself. The questions may be about your life, studies or work, future plans, interests, or your family. This part is designed to test your skills to interact with the examiner and use general social language It lats between 4 and 5 minutes. In the Speaking Part 2: You are given a task card with prompts and are asked to talk on a particualr topic. You have 1 minute to prepare and you can make notes if you wish.
